Programme Notes:

CLUB EUROPE (Tour for Band) was commissioned in 2002 by Club Europe Concert Tours for the  Belgian Young Bands Festival and Italian Young Bands Festival for a work suitable for performance by intermediate youth bands. The work is intended to be a warm hearted and thoroughly positive concert overture without a hint of bombasity or pretension. The composer imagined himself looking out of a tour bus window at various stages of a European holiday and reflecting in musical terms on the sights and experiences he both saw and imagined. Cast in a simple ABA form of fast/slow/fast it lasts around eight and a half minutes.
